90 points Wine Spectator: "Polished and open-textured, with an airy feel to the red cherry, tobacco and spice flavors, floating easily over refined tannins and lingering on the finish. Drink now through 2013." (12/09) From the International Wine Review: "Winemaker David Paige blends fruit from several Willamette Valley vineyards to produce this medium light red wine, which has a nice bouquet of pure red fruit with minerals and earth notes. The palate shows focused, mineral-laden light red cherry fruit with some smoky cherry on the finish and a quite high acid backbone. Finishes with round tannins and a smoky cherry note. Surprisingly elegant for an entry level wine." (April 2009) First produced in 1979, the 2007 Adelsheim Willamette Valley Pinot Noir, comes from the winery's seven estate vineyards in the Chehalem Mountains AVA and the greater Willamette Valley AVA. It bursts forth with cherry and raspberry fruit and cookie spice aromas, delivering them on the palate. There's just a kiss of black pepper combined with fine, polished tannins and good acidity. Pair with grilled Portabella mushrooms or duck breasts with pomegranate reduction.
